spoolcast stopped being a program on one mac
spoolcast ran locally for three months. one clone, one content folder next to it, absolute paths scattered through the scripts that only worked on the machine they were written on. this is the month that ended.
accounts with roles, magic-link sign-in, a credit ledger per user. every project file moved to cloud storage instead of a laptop disk. the engine runs in docker behind a bearer token. a render queue that survives a restart — a job caught mid-render picks up instead of dying.
the unglamorous part was the one that mattered: one module now owns the content root and every file read and write. before that, each script resolved paths its own way. you cannot host something whose file paths assume one computer. that seam had to exist before any of the rest could.
